LIVING BY ALFA IN SØBORG SKOVBY

Living By ALFA is coming to Søborg Skovby – a new residential neighbourhood in Gladsaxe, offering 400 modern owner-occupied and rental homes on historic land surrounding the listed Mørkhøjgård estate.

Since 2023, Living By ALFA has been creating the framework for everyday life and community in Irmabyen, Rødovre. We are now working with ALFA Development on a number of newly built homes in the new district of Søborg Skovby, where part of Living By ALFA will consist of approximately 250 rental apartments ranging from 51 to 113 m². The first residents are expected to move in during 2028.

A special focal point of Living By ALFA will be Laden (The Barn) – the historic former farm building at Mørkhøjgård, which will be preserved and transformed into shared facilities for residents. Here, there will be space for work, exercise and social activities.

Living By ALFA Søborg Skovby builds on the experiences and insights that have shaped the concept from the beginning – creating a place where home extends beyond the apartment and community becomes part of everyday life.

'Laden' will become the heart of the community

In Søborg Skovby, Laden will form the setting for Living By ALFAs community and be the natural gathering place. Here, the former stable buildings of the listed Mørkhøjgård will be transformed into modern spaces for community and everyday life.

While the characteristic exterior of the barn is preserved, the interior will be carefully transformed into inviting shared facilities for Living By ALFA members. Through an extensive restoration and refurbishment, and in collaboration with designer Ulrik Wang, who also designed Living By ALFA Irmabyen, the historic buildings will begin a new chapter in Søborg Skovby.

Architecture and nature in Søborg Skovby

Red brick buildings with pitched roofs will create the setting for green courtyards, pathways and landscaped recreational areas throughout Søborg Skovby.

Existing trees and woodland, together with 400 newly planted trees, will form the foundation of the neighbourhood’s green structure. Plantings, fruit trees and winding pathways will weave between the buildings, while the courtyards will be designed for residents of all ages. There will be lawns for children to play, quiet corners for private moments and open spaces for natural and planned encounters between neighbours.

Early illustrations and 3D visualisations are indicative only and subject to change and final design development.
